An Interview with Scott W. Kimak, Dystopian Fiction Author

Today I got the chance to chat with Scott W. Kimak, author of post-apocolyptic and fantasy fiction.

Hi, Scott! Tell us about your books.

I released The Angel of Death two months ago.

What’s the first book you ever remember reading?

What inspired you to start writing?

Edgar Rice Burroughs and his novels have been the biggest inspiration to me.

Who is your main inspiration?

Edgar Rice Burroughs, R.A. Salvatore, Stephen King, and Tom Clancy.

Aside from writing, what do you like to do in your spare time?

Kung Fu and Tai Chi.

Wow, that sounds great! Tell me about your writing space. Where do you usually write?

Anywhere that’s quiet.

It’s good to be flexible. Are you a morning or night person? What time of day do you prefer to sit and write?

Night.

Do you plan out your stories or are you a pantser (making it up as you go along)?

Pantser.

Wow, I’d love to talk more about your writing process sometime. What’s your favourite book genre? Do you write in that genre?

Fantasy, and yes I do!

Tell me your top three favourite books of all time.

Homeland by R.A. Salvatore, The Gunslinger by Stephen King, The Gods of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

What’s your latest book about? If you don’t have any books out yet, tell us about your WIP.

The Sword of God is the last book in the I call him HIM trilogy. It’s about a post-apocalyptic future controlled by evil and the final battle to save humanity.

OK, something unrelated to writing! If you could go on a date with any celebrity, living or dead, who would it be and why?

No one, I’m deeply in love with my wife.

Aw, that’s sweet. Where can we find out more about you?

You can find me on my website, I Call Him Him.

Thank you, Scott!
